Devon Witherspoon, Seahawks ‘do not yet appear to be close to an agreement’
The Seattle Seahawks wasted little time getting a contract extension done with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who’s now the NFL’s highest paid receiver. It’s a slightly different (but, for now, not particularly concerning) story for All-Pro cornerback and fellow 2023 first-round pick, Devon Witherspoon. ESPN’s Brady Henderson shared his latest Seahawks notebook over the weekend, with Witherspoon’s […]

Which Seahawks are under the most pressure entering 2026?
Fresh off of a Super Bowl, it may seem silly to think that anyone on the Seattle Seahawks roster is under pressure. However, the opposite may be true. The Seahawks or no longer the hunter; they are now “the hunted.” Each team will be looking at Seattle as the measuring stick for where they all […]

These scientists are keeping an eye on which KC beaches are safe for swimming
Memorial Day is a time to honor America’s fallen soldiers past and present. It’s also the unofficial start of summer. Today’s weather isn't exactly ideal for a beach swim. But once we get to magical Seattle summer weather, don’t forget to check King County Public Health’s website before you take a dip. They send out environmental scientists like Wyatt Klepac each week to test our swim beaches for toxic algae and bacteria. Right now, Green Lake’s West Beach is closed because of toxic algae and Newcastle Beach due to high bacteria. Last summer, we were curious about how the county decides to close beaches and went out with Wyatt to see for ourselves. Here’s that episode again. Seattle Seahawks 53-man roster projection: Pre-OTAs edition
The Seattle Seahawks begin their voluntary Organized Team Activities (OTAs) next Tuesday, bringing us another step closer to a new NFL season. With Seattle retaining so many players from its Super Bowl championship season, then adding more talent through the draft, this is going to be an extraordinarily difficult process to get from 90 to […]

Why the Seahawks made Aidan Hubbard their priority UDFA signing
One of the biggest questions surrounding the Seattle Seahawks draft entering the weekend was whether the team would add an EDGE defender — or at least when they would finally address the position. Seattle brought several edge rushers in for top-30 visits, but even after turning four picks into eight through trade-downs, Seattle never selected […]

Asian markets – from strip malls to mega stores | Meanderings by Mindy Stern
When husband and wife Taiwanese immigrants, Cindy and Jack Lee opened a supermarket in Vancouver, B.C. in 1993, their vision was to create “an Asian version of Safeway.” They named it in honor of their young daughters, Tina and Tiffany. T&T Supermarket became a mega hit, a destination for Asian shoppers from Canada and the U.S. seeking fresh, frozen, boxed, and canned food items not found at mainstream grocers who’d never heard of lemongrass, galangal, or lime leaves.
